The Henderson Fire Department responded to a field fire west of Henderson.
Unsurprisingly, with the area’s extremely dry and windy conditions, a field fire ignited west of Henderson on Sunday. The Henderson Fire Department responded to a field fire at Road 6 and Road X west of Henderson Sunday afternoon. The Hampton Fire Department also assisted with a couple of trucks. Before the fire trucks arrived, several neighbors began using their tractors to disc around the fire’s perimeter to help prevent it from spreading further. According to Henderson Fire Chief Sheldon Epp, only a few acres of a harvested corn field burned.
