The Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park is hosting a new event this year entitled “One Book, One Heritage Park.” They are excited to host award-winning author Mildred Schindler Janzen for a question-and-answer session and book signing. Her book is “Surviving Hitler, Evading Stalin,” a memoir about her remarkable escape from Nazi Germany.
“One Book, One Heritage Park” will be held on Saturday, September 28, at 10 a.m. at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park in the Country Church. The event is free, but a free-will donation will be accepted. Apple Preishka and coffee will be served following the author’s session.
Her book has won numerous awards, including the 2023 Sunbury Press SUNNY Award, the Scriptoria Press SUNNY Award, and the 2022 International Book Award: Autobiography/Memoir.
Books may be purchased at the Heritage Park Visitor’s Center before the event. A limited supply of books will be available at a discounted price after the first of September.
