The Homecoming spirit was alive at the Heartland Huskie football field on Friday night, helping the Huskies find a way to kickstart their offense. Even though they lost to the Twin River Titans 30-56, they generated more offense than their previous two games and led 8-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Plenty of sparks were flying for the Huskies and Titans near the end of the second quarter when both teams traded back and forth with kick-off returns. Carter Siebert returned a kick-off with 2:10 to go and ran it in 73 yards for a TD. The Huskies had a successful two-point conversion, with Siebert running it in for the extra points, and the score was 16-34. The Titans returned the favor and ran their kick-off in 70 yards to score a TD immediately after the Huskies. They also made their two-point conversion, making the score 16-42.

The Huskies weren’t finished with less than a minute to go in the half. After a completed pass to Sam Quiring, the Huskies were on the two-yard line. Siebert ran it in for another TD and then successfully ran it in for the extra two points. The Huskies were still in the game when they went into half-time behind 24-44.

The Huskies’ offense got stalled in the third quarter, and they didn’t have enough to come from behind to catch the Titans. Siebert scored the only TD for the Huskies in the fourth quarter, but they couldn’t convert for the extra two points. Twin River’s Paydon Rinkol really hurt the Huskies with his 21 carries, 245 yards, and five TDs.
