Mainstay Communications has welcomed two new hires to its staff. Mainstay has always been on the cutting edge of providing high-quality communications services to its customers, and new employees Jordan Hiebner and Matt Enns are a welcome addition to its staff.

Hiebner started work in February as Mainstay’s Outside Plant Manager. He has a strong background in automotive science, equipment operation, and technology. “I worked at Tri-County Automotive for six years, and later, I had a desire to get into technology, so I started working at Striv,” said Hiebner.

At Mainstay, he is responsible for all fiber optic distribution, including installing new fiber, locating fiber breaks, and maintaining existing fiber infrastructure. He is also responsible for any 811 digs and will mark any digging projects for fiber.

“It’s been terrific to have some part-time job shadowing with Doug Geis, who retired just a few days after I started to assist me with new fiber installations and all the processes and procedures,” said Hiebner.

He said his new job is a nice blend of his previous work experiences, and he has enjoyed the challenges while he learns the ropes at Mainstay. Jordan and his wife Megan live in Henderson with their four children.

In May, Mainstay hired Matt Enns for its new Technology Technician position. He and his wife Sheri, two daughters, and foster son moved here from Oak Lake, Manitoba. They had decided to move to Henderson to be closer to his recently retired parents, Eugene and Marsha Enns, who worked for Grace Mission.

Matt’s father, Eugene, saw the job posting on the Mainstay outdoor digital sign and alerted him about the job opportunity. “It’s kind of funny because my previous business in Manitoba was called Technology Technician, and when I read the job description, it was what I was already doing and had the exact same name,” he said. He and Mainstay Manager Jeremiah Duerksen laughed about how it looked like he was a pretty good candidate for the job.

Enns will utilize his strong foundation in whole-office IT support, data backup maintenance, and security systems at Mainstay. He is preparing new office and residential IT services and security products that will be available in a few months at Mainstay.

“I’ve enjoyed connecting here, and everyone is great to work with,” said Matt. Both Jordan and Matt like the work environment at Mainstay and look forward to coming to work every day!
