YORK COUNTY – The deadline has been reached for village board incumbents to file their intentions to run again for office.
Non-incumbents have until Aug. 1 to file their candidacies.
The following are the seats up for election this year in each of the villages in York County and who has filed so far:
- Benedict: The seats of Brad Brooke, Erich Heiden, and Lonney Schlegelmilch are up for election. So far, the candidates are Heiden and Schlegelmilch. Brooke did not file to run again.
- Bradshaw: The seats of James Gordan, Eric Jensen, and Mary Kempf are up for election. So far, the candidates are John Hastings, Jensen, Gordan, Kempf, Devon Stamp and Kent Meyers. So, all the incumbents are in.
- Gresham: The seats of Justin Brahmsteadt, Tony Cain, and Colton Luettel are up for election. So far, the candidates are James O’Donnell, Brahmsteadt, Cain and Luettel. So, all the incumbents are in.
- Lushton: The seats of Richard Hallet, Lennett Siebert and Diana Weisheit are up for election. So far, the candidates are Jason Balaban, Weisheit and Eric Gammill. So, Hallet and Siebert are not seeking reelection.
- McCool: The seats of Dustin Arduser, Reid VanWesten and Brennan White are up for election. So far, the candidates are VanWeston and White. Arduser is not seeking reelection.
- Thayer: The seats of Carl Georges and Faron Hines are up for election. Hines filed to run again. Georges did not. There are no other candidates, yet, as of this time.
- Waco: The seats of Todd Bauder, Carl Gordon and Robert Saeger are up for election. All three have file to run again and so far, no one has filed to run against them.
If non-incumbents want to file, they need to do so with the county clerk/election commissioner’s office, both of which are located on the main floor of the York County Courthouse.
