YORK – The York County Commissioners will again be discussing their next steps toward having a public hearing regarding the county’s proposed zoning regulations pertaining to solar projects. When they meet in regular session, Tuesday morning, May 28, the conversation will be held.
It’s been a month since Commissioner Stan Boehr passed away. The hearing process was postponed in order for someone to be appointed to fill the fifth county seat – in order to have a full board when the public hearing is held and decisions take place.
Andy Bowman was appointed to fulfill that position, and now that the county table is full, the process will continue.
Also on Tuesday’s agenda:
The commissioners will consider a juvenile diversion grant. They will meet with Sheri Weber from Blue Valley as she presents the entity’s annual report and budget request. The commissioners will consider reappointing Steve Witmer to the Veterans Service Committee. A conversation will be held regarding the county working with Glenwood toward a fiber optic expansion program in rural York County.
As the board of equalization, they will consider permissive property tax exemptions. The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room, which is located next to the clerk’s office on the main floor of the courthouse.
