HENDERSON, NE – The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to unveil a packed schedule of community and fundraising events set to take place throughout the summer. These events not only bring together the community for fun and celebration but also support various local groups and organizations.
Farmers Market Fundraisers
Join us every Tuesday evening at the Henderson Farmers Market, starting June 4th, where local organizations will be hosting special fundraiser meals. These delicious meals are an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful evening in the park, support local causes, and engage with the community.
June 4: Movie Night in the Park hosted by Henderson Chamber of Commerce featuring “The Girl Who Believes in Miracles.” Enjoy hayrack rides from 7 PM until dusk, with the movie starting at dusk.

Community Days: July 12-14
Our annual Community Days are set to be a great year, with a theme of “Roots of Resilience, Pioneers of Prosperity.” From July 12th through 14th, we invite everyone to participate in a range of activities designed to celebrate our community’s spirit and history.
July 12 Highlights:
Chamber BBQ: From 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Downtown Park, join us for the Chamber BBQ. This event is a community favorite, where residents and visitors alike can enjoy a delicious barbecue meal. Proceeds are appreciated to support the Chamber’s ongoing community projects.
Egg Drop: At 7:30 PM at Main Street, witness the thrilling Egg Drop challenge. Kids of all ages will attempt to catch and protect an egg as it’s dropped from varying heights! It’s a fun and exciting experience that combines creativity and community spirit.
Rock the Block: During the Egg Drop, stay on Main Street for Rock the Block from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. This event transforms downtown into a festive block party with great music and an opportunity to show what your kiddos can do! Bring a bike, scooter or big wheel in this kids rally! It’s a perfect way to mingle with neighbors and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Henderson and enjoy the delight of little ones as they show us what childhood is made for!
Street Dance with Live Music: Cap the night with a Street Dance behind Sparrows Branch from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Featuring live music that gets everyone on their feet, this event is a highlight of Community Days. Dance the night away under the stars and enjoy the community camaraderie. Chicken Parts will be playing all evening to rock the night away!
July 13 Highlights:
Pancake Feed: Start your day with our traditional Pancake Feed at Mennonite Heritage Park, a perfect gathering place for friends and families to enjoy a hearty breakfast together. Donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Community Parade: Be a part of the vibrant display of community spirit at our annual parade down Main Street. The parade showcases local businesses, sports teams, and various community groups. A true celebration of Henderson’s unity and pride.
Community Photo: Capture a moment in time with the entire community! Join us right after the parade on Main Street for the annual Community Photo. This is your chance to be part of Henderson’s history.
Heartland Alumni Basketball Game: Catch the excitement at Heartland Schools where alumni from across the years come together for a friendly but competitive game of basketball.
Hamburger Fry: From 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Downtown Park, enjoy delicious hamburgers prepared by Circle 5. This event is free will donations gladly accepted to support community projects.
HeyHende Talent Show: Experience the local talent at the Downtown Park Band Shell from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. This showcase features performers of all ages and is a testament to the creative spirit of our community. See below for a chance to enter your wonderful performance!
1974 Time Capsule Opening: Step back in time with the opening of our 1974 Time Capsule at 7:15 PM by the Henderson Town Sign. Discover the treasures and memories preserved from nearly 50 years ago.
Cruise Night: As the sun sets, Cruise Hendersons Main Streets with classic and modern cars for Cruise Night, a perfect event for automotive enthusiasts and families alike.
Fireworks: Cap off a fantastic day with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk at Lakeview Park. A stunning visual treat that lights up the Henderson sky, celebrating our community’s spirit and togetherness.
July 14 Highlights:
Community Church Service: Begin the final day of our Community Days celebration with a spiritual touch at the Community Church Service. Held at 10:00 AM in Downtown Park, South, this service is open to all, providing a moment of reflection and community fellowship.
2 Person Scramble: Following the church service, join us for the 2 Person Scramble at Galaway Creek Golf Course starting at 12:00 PM. This fun and competitive golf event is perfect for pairing up with a friend or family member to test your skills on the greens.
These activities bring our Community Days to a close, offering both peaceful reflection and spirited competition, encapsulating the diverse interests and unity of our community.
