2024 Saturday State Track Results for Heartland Huskie Track Team

Day two of the Nebraska State Track Meet was exciting for the Heartland Huskies at Omaha Burke Stadium, with the Huskies bringing some medals home. The conditions on the track were a bit on the breezy side, with the temperature in the low 80s. Despite the wind, an all-time high 42 records were broken at the State Meet over the two days for Class C & D.

The Heartland girls scored 17 points, putting them in 15th place overall. The boys scored 3 points, coming in at 39th place overall.

GIRLS EVENTS

800 METER RUN: Tara Buzek – 14th place – 2:30.57

1600 METER RUN: Tara Buzek – 4th place – 5:36.95; Madalyn Janzen – 14th place – 5:52.51

Tara Buzek received her 4th-place medal in the 1600-meter run.

4 X 400 RELAY: 8th place – 4:15.86 – Hayden Mierau, Isabel Johnson, Mariah Tessman, Tara Buzek

BOYS EVENTS:

4 X 100 RELAY: 11th place – 45.75 – Luis Alvarez, Thane Wetjen, Jake Goertzen, Samuel Friesen

4 X 400 RELAY: 8th place – 3:34.23 – Thane Wetjen, Hudson Regier, Luis Alvarez, Nick Thieszen
