York County Commissioner Stan Boehr suddenly passed away in Henderson on Tuesday, April 11th.

YORK COUNTY – York County Commissioner Stan Boehr is being remembered today, after the community is shocked and saddened by his sudden passing.
Boehr, a longtime resident of the Henderson area, was elected to the county position two years ago, representing District 3. He was mid-way through his first term on the county board.
As a county board member, Boehr sat on a number of committees and boards, including on the Blue Valley Community Action Board of Directors, the Region V Board of Directors and was a liaison with the York County Roads Department.
When he was running for the office, he said he wanted to “work toward improving York County for the people who live and work here so we can grow all facets of our local economy.”
For the future of York County, Boehr said he wanted to see a future for York County that included expanded broadband internet opportunities, and he wanted to work to work to continue economic growth.
“I want to serve the people of York County because of my interest and enthusiasm to make York County and its surrounding areas the best they can become,” he said, during a candidate forum two years ago.
Boehr was active on numerous boards, including the Nebraska Corn Check-off Board, the Nebraska Farm Bureau, and Mainstay Communications.
His fellow commissioners expressed their sympathy for his family and noted the vacancy he leaves behind at their table.
York County Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier said Wednesday, “We are sorry to hear about Stan’s passing. Whether you serve for years or months, you are willing to step up and try to make York County a great place to live. Stan was a servant for York County. He will be missed.”
