Luke Janzen long jumping at the Jr. High Track Meet in Sutton on Monday.
It was a beautiful day Monday for the Heartland Jr. High Track Team to compete at the Sutton Invite. The girls and the boys had some good performances, helping them each place 5th overall. Here are some of the top finishes for both the girls and the boys.
Sophie Minary placed first in the discus with a throw of 84-11 and second in the shot put with a throw of 26- 08. Kady Farrall pole vaulted, going 7-06.00, giving her second place. Ashlyn Rutter placed second in the 400 M run with a time of 1:08.69. Kate Haidle placed second in the high jump at 4-04.00.
Winning the 100 M Dash was Adrik Friesen with a time of 12.70, and he also placed third in the 200 M Dash at 26.37. Brooks Burgess placed third in the 800 M Run with a 2:25.68 time. The boys’ 4 x 100 (53.34) and 4 x 400 (4:18.24) both placed second. Waylon Tessman placed second in the pole vault with a 10-06.00 vault.
