Third Place Huskie Golfers - Zach Miller, Andrew Franz, Jake Regier, Creighton Friesen, Ryan Hiebner

The Huskie Golf Team placed third Wednesday, April 19th, scoring 329, which tied the school record from 2009. They competed at the David City Invite and were able to capitalize with lower scores without the gusty winds. Eleven teams competed at the meet, with several low scores posted in the 70s.

“The team had a great day yesterday. Jake Regier tied the 9-hole record of 36, and then Creighton Friesen broke the record with a 35 15 minutes later. Creighton just missed the 18-hole record by one stroke by shooting a 73,” said Coach Chad Buzek.

According to Buzek, the boys had a great day to go along with the near-perfect weather conditions, with all five golfers improving their 18-hole averages. “I’m proud of the hard work that the boys have put into this season, and now they are starting to reap the rewards.  We look to carry on with this momentum through the remainder of the season.”

Placing for the Huskies were:

3rd Place – Creighton Friesen – 73

6th Place – Jake Regier – 75
