The Huskie golf team had another big day at the Blue Hill Invitational Cyndi Pell Memorial Scramble on Monday, April 24th, at the Red Cloud Country Club. The Creighton Friesen/Jake Regier duo fired the low score for the day with a 71, winning first place in the A flight.
The Heartland team placed third in a field of ten teams with a total score of 236. Lawrence/Nelson won the invite scoring 223, and Heartland tied with Red Cloud at 236, losing the playoff hole for third.
Andrew Franz and Ryan Hiebner placed second in the C flight with a score of 80. There was also some action for the JVs, with Jack McCormick and Jordan Nolan teaming up and winning second place in the JV flight with an 87.
The scramble format is played by two-person teams where each player hits a tee shot, and then the players decide which shot they want to play from, and they each play from that spot. They keep taking their best shot until they finish the hole and have one score for the team of two.
