The Henderson Community Foundation is happy to award their first grant from their newly created grant program, which was created to support public and private services that benefit the Henderson, Nebraska community.

The Henderson Child Development Center (HCDC) received $656.23 from the Henderson Community Foundation Grant Program to help purchase new playground equipment for the facility as they strive to provide quality childcare to Henderson and the surrounding area. HCDC was also able to obtain a grant from the Aksarben Foundation as matching funds for this project.

“We are excited to bring new life to the Henderson Foundation with this grant program,” said Kerri Kliewer, Henderson Foundation President. “While our foundation has always been a vehicle for charitable giving locally, we can now support emerging projects that will enhance the community in a variety of areas.”

This grant was made possible through undesignated donations to the Henderson Foundation as well as from Edith Kroeker Memorial funds. If you would like to contribute to future grants to benefit the six basic areas of philanthropy (Community/Civic, Arts/Culture, Education, Recreation, Health, Human Service) in Henderson, you can designate a donation to the Henderson Community Foundation Grant Fund. For more information about the Henderson Foundation and this grant program, contact Justin Ott, Kerri Kliewer, or Kelsey Bergen.
