The Heartland Boys Golf Team won the Southern Nebraska Conference Championship last Friday with a score of 348. Setting a new school record, Hayes Oswald was the individual champion with a score of 72. Jaden Regier placed 5th with an 85.
Coach Matt Maltsberger commented on the day saying, “Fairbury is a difficult course with a lot of opportunities for trouble, and our boys really navigated around the course well. We limited the penalty strokes, which allowed us to gain some strokes on the field. I am proud of our boys, and we really played well as a team. That says a lot about our commitment to playing for each other in an individual sport.”
On Wednesday the team also won the Thayer Central Invite. Next Monday, May 14, they will compete at districts in Grand Island at Indian Head Golf Course. Here are the tee times for it:
