After years of discussions and dreaming, months of organizing, planning, and licensing, the Henderson Child Development Center (HCDC) Board is happy to announce the doors are finally open for childcare.Â
It hasn’t been easy for the HCDC Board which consists of: Dot Quiring, Brad Janzen, Kori Lewis, Jen Hiebner, Kelsey Bergen, and Hillary Veerhusen, but the results at the facility and the economic impact this daycare will have on the community are worth all of the hard work.Â
HCDC is operating as a licensed Home II Daycare, caring for up to 12 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years-old under the supervision of two staff members in the Grace Children’s Home Ranch House at 1416B Birch Street in Henderson. Hillary Lee serves as the Director of the daycare in addition to direct childcare alongside Shelby Diercks. Both Lee and Diercks come to HCDC with a wide range of childcare experience.
There are still a few openings available for part-time and full-time childcare positions. HCDC also accepts one-day drop-in care requested at least two days in advance depending on space for parents needing childcare during appointments and other engagements not suitable for children. Anyone needing childcare should contact HCDC by phone at 402-723-4633 or email HendersonCDC@gmail.com.Â
