Excitement is building for September 24 as Henderson hosts two great events during the same evening. Kickoff for the Nebraska vs. Northwesters football game will happen at 6:30 p.m., and the Henderson Chamber will be selling concessions starting at 6:00 p.m. and PERKS will be open all evening, so head to the Henderson Downtown Park to watch the game on the big screen.

As the sun goes down, the Henderson Chamber charity run, the Halftime Hustle, will start during halftime. This 5K and 1 mile race will help support local charities as runners, and walkers, can choose which local charity they want part of their registration fee to go towards. Participants can choose to support, Bethesda Preschool, the Heartland Booster Club, Henderson Fire and Rescue, HHCS Jr Auxiliary, Heartland NHS, Henderson Foundation or Heritage Park.

Individuals who are not runners, can also participate and support the charity of their choice by making a minimum $30 donation to the event. For making a donation they will not only support their favorite charity, but they will also receive a donut and an “I donut run” t-shirt.

Online registration will be open until September 23 at www.GetMeRegistered.com/HalftimeHustleRun or a paper copy can be filled out at City Hall. Late registrations or donations, the week of the event, are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Everyone is encouraged to come on September 24 to watch the Huskers and cheer on the runners in the new community event starting at 6:00 p.m. in the downtown park. For more information, visit www.HendersonNE.com.     Â
