A quilting class is being planned for Saturday, July 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. The class is called “Serendipity I & II†and is being taught by Darice Cecil, sister to Dot Quiring of Henderson. Participants will utilize a simple technique when making the blocks for “Serendipity Iâ€, and along the way, the blocks for “Serendipity II†will be made at the same time. This class would be great for mother-daughter, sisters, or friends to take together to make coordinating quilts.
The class will take place in the Family Center at the MB Church. A lunch (gluten-free) will be provided on Saturday, as well as snacks on both days. There is a cost for the class, which includes the pattern for the quilt. A free-will donation will be taken to help with the cost of food. Anyone interested can pick up a registration form from Dot Quiring or from the MB Church office. Questions can be directed to Dot Quiring at 402-723-5318 or dotq@mainstaycomm.net.
