After a weather delay last week, the Southern Nebraska Conference Basketball Tournament began last Thursday, February 4. On Friday, the Heartland teams jumped in the action. The girls played Sandy Creek and ended up 6 points short of the Cougars. The boys also faced Sandy Creek, winning 56-39.
After Friday’s win, the boys traveled to Utica to play Milford on Saturday. In a close game, they lost 71-79. This put them in the consolation game against Sutton last night. Although the team had a previous season win against the Mustangs, this game had a different outcome and the Huskies lost 39-54.
After the tournament, the girls hold a 12-7 record and the boys are 12-8. The teams play away at Deshler today, February 9.
