Even though their normal route of practice down Main Street is closed for construction, that hasn’t stopped the Heartland Band from finding places to march around town. It hasn’t stopped the supporters either. Community members still gather to watch the band in the morning, and business workers file down the street to catch a glimpse.
The band will have their first performance of the year in the 47th AppleJack Festival in Nebraska City on Saturday. The parade is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. There will be 16 high school bands and five jr. high bands in the parade. Heartland is entry #82 out of 96 entries in the parade. Good luck to the band as they compete!
