Jordan Heinrichs and Cole Nickels started playing basketball in first grade through the Huskie Hoops program. Together they have been through countless practices, games, and tournaments. All of this work led the pair to a very special place this winter when the Huskies played under the lights at the Devaney Sports Center. This came following a great season including winning their conference tournament and their first game at the NSAA Boy’s State Basketball Tournament.

On June 6, Henrichs and Nickels were reunited for a final game as they were both chosen to play in the Striv All-Star Game in York. The teammates played together on the orange team and won 97-73. In the game, Nickels had 12 points and Heinrichs had 2.

“I really enjoyed the Striv All-Star Game because I was coached by Cameron Hudson and played with Cole Klingsporn from High Plains rather than playing against them. And also playing with Jordan one last time,” commented Nickels. Heinrichs also shared the same thoughts about gaining teammates for the game who were former opponents mentioning that the game was really fun and, “There was a lot of talent.”

For Cole, his basketball days aren’t over as he will be attending Central Community College in in Columbus where he will playing for the Raiders and studying Agribusiness. Right now Heinrichs is undecided about his future plans.
