Celebrating Henderson was truly the theme Monday night at the Chamber Banquet, sponsored by Cornerstone Bank and Kroeker & Kroeker Insurance and Real Estate. Over 80 people attended the event and had the opportunity to listen to Mike Ayars from Ayars & Ayars, Inc. how economic development relates to Henderson, Nebraska. He encouraged those in attendance to celebrate what we have, address the areas that need to be fixed, and find ways to invest and grow what we already have.

The Friend of Henderson Award was presented during the banquet to the late Ken Bergen who was recognized for serving this community in many aspects throughout his life. From owning several businesses and developing a subdivision to his service of working for the golf course and volunteering for church boards, the fire department, city council, and finally as Mayor prior to his passing in May of last year.
The evening ended with the highest bidders of the Silent Auction with 14 unique local items being auctioned. Donations for the Silent Auction were made by Baer’s Furniture, Custom Wood Products, Eakes Office Supply, Galaway Creek Golf Course, The Headquarters Salon, Heartland Community Schools, Henderson FoodMart, Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park, Kerry’s Restaurant, KVK Jewelry Design, York Pizza Hut, Stacy Lynn’s Baking Company, Wessels Living History Farm, Willow Station, York Chamber of Commerce, and York Equipment.
