It is just three weeks until York County’s Relay for Life Event on June 7 at the York County Fairgrounds.
This week the team is hosting a Zumbathon to raise funds. The event will take place from 8:00-10:00 p.m. at the Heartland High School North Gym. Participants should enter the building at the main entrance on Front Street. Doors open and registration begins at 7:30 p.m., and participants will be asked to make a donation to the local relay team to participate.
Zumba is a high energy exercise program set to music. Joni Huebert will lead the entire two-hour exercise event. Fruit and water will be available (bring your own water bottle).
In addition to the zumbathon, three vendors will be on hand to sell their products with a percentage of the proceeds going to Relay for Life. Thirty-One Gifts sells trendy and affordable purses, totes, bags and storage containers. The May special is thermal totes that keep cold things cold or hot things hot – great for upcoming summer picnics. Origami Owl custom jewelry is a company that sells personalized jewelry pieces. Lockets, charms and stones are chosen by the customer to create their own unique pieces of jewelry. Signature Homestyles offers an exclusive line of versatile and beautiful organizing and decorating essentials including baskets, linens, dishes and wall décor. Anyone is welcome to come look and make purchases from the vendors – whether participating in the zumbathon or not. General donations for the Relay may also be dropped off at the event.
The zumbathon will be a great summer kick-off event! It would be a great jump-start to a summer workout program, a fun way to spend an evening with a friend, and a great way to support the American Cancer Society and your local Relay for Life Team!
