Chamber Banquet Celebrated in Henderson

Celebrating Henderson was truly the theme of the Chamber Banquet held on Monday, January 27. Eighty people attended the event and had the opportunity to listen to the fill-in guest speaker, Aaron Davis, who spoke in place of Johnny Schrunk who had became ill prior to the event. Davis spoke about maintaining a positive attitude, identifying your “why,” the reason you work each day, listening to directions and the ideas of youth, as well as excepting and embracing change

Fourteen different businesses were presented with Milestone Awards during the evening. Businesses recognized for reaching milestones in 2013 included:

The Friend of Henderson Award was presented during the banquet to Byron Friesen, who retired last year after manager of Henderson Community Coop for 40 years.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Banquet was sponsored by Cornerstone Bank with funding for the speaker being provided by a JOBS Grant through the Federal Home Loan Bank in Topeka. Businesses sponsoring tables included the City of Henderson, Henderson State Bank, Henderson Health Care Services, Mainstay Communications, and Henderson Heating and Air.
