Family, friends, and community supporters all gathered last Saturday at Bethesda to raise support for the family of Spencer Prentice.

Prentice, a freshman at Heartland, suffered from a brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation) before Heartland’s homecoming football game. He remains in a coma today.

Soon after his hospitalization, a prayer service was held at the Heartland Football Field. With the anticipation of medical costs and travel expenses for the family, a fundraiser gave the community an opportunity to rally alongside Spencer’s family.

Along with a free will donation for a chili meal, numerous businesses and people donated items and services for both a silent and live auction. Students were also selling rubber bracelets for Spencer.  All of these fundraising avenues added up to $12,800 being raised for the family.

Spencer is the son of Melissa and Corbin Erickson and Kevin Prentice.

November 9th the community of Henderson gathered to raise money for the Prentice family after Spencer suffered a vascular malformation in his brain on October 11th before a Heartland Football game. The community of Henderson raised $12,800!
