With less than a month until Community Days, the schedule for this year’s event has a great lineup of events taking place on July 12, 13, and 14.
With so many activities going on, you should be aware that some of the events taking place will need some advanced planning if you want to participate. Registration forms for each of these events can be found on the Henderson Nebraska website at www.HendersonNE.com on the Play page under Community Days or you can pick up a registration form at City Hall.
If you are athletically inclined, or just enjoy walking or running, the HHCS Jr. Auxiliary Jaunt maybe the event for you. During this 5K and 10K Run/Walk you will get your blood pumping first thing in the morning on Saturday. While you can register the morning of the race, you will save some money if you register by July 5.
If you are more of a team sport person, sign up your team of 6-8 people for the Co-ed Dodgeball Tournament on Friday evening. This tournament will be put on by the Heartland FFA, but you must be at least a 7th grader as of the 2012-2013 school year. You can also compete in the Henderson/Heartland Alumni Basketball Tournament taking place on Saturday by contacting Taylor Siebert at taylor.siebert@gmail.com.
If swinging some clubs and riding in a cart is more of your style, sign up for the two person scramble at Galaway Creek Golf Course. This event will take place on Sunday beginning at Noon. Just stop by the Galaway Creek Clubhouse to sign up ahead of time.
