Cash Mobs have been around for a while, but this Saturday will be the first time one will happen in York County. Â Blake Burgess, a local business owner in York, is the one who founded the group and is organizing the event.
Cash Mobs have formed across the country to stimulate small businesses. The idea behind the event is to get as many people as possible to “mob” a local business and have each person spend $20 at that business. Â This also helps to make people aware of products these businesses carry and remind them of the value in shopping locally.
This Saturday, June 8, the York County Cash Mob group will gather to perform their first cash mob in York County. This is open to anyone in York County who wants to support local businesses. Everyone is planned to meet on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the York County Courthouse on the north lawn. At that time, it will be announced which business will be mobbed.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in the community and bring the county together to support local businesses.
