October 30, 2012 – Henderson Health Care (HHC) was selected to receive a $10,000 grant from The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska, Inc.

This year’s event was hosted by Allen and Shelly Clark of McCool Junction and held at the Stone Creek Event Center. Co-chairs were Paul and Cheri Underwood, and Jim and Kathy Matzner, also of McCool.

For the third straight year in the ball’s 15-year history, more than $1 million was raised with 90 percent of the proceeds going to the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Eppley Cancer Center for cancer research. The remaining 10 percent of the funds goes to local organizations.

This year more than $1.4 million was raised – the second highest total ever collected. Dr. Ken Cowan M.D., Ph.D., director of the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center accepted the check from the Cattlemen’s Ball.
