The 7th & 8th grade football season kicks off this Monday, at home, against Osceola. The team has put in three weeks of hard work and is excited to test themselves against another squad. This year’s team is led by five 8th grade athletes: TE/LB Ethan Hall, WB/CB Spencer Prentice, QB/CB Ben Driewer, G/NT Ryne Mierau, and FB/LB Austin Stuhr.  These 8th graders have shown an excellent attitude and work ethic, leading the team through the grueling August practices. In addition to these 8th grade students, eleven 7th graders make up the team. The seventh grade class is full of excellent athletes with a strong desire to compete. Coaches Lynn Hall and Lee Smith have enjoyed working with these young men. Their goals are to see these young men learn the basic skills of the game of football while developing strong work ethics backed by mental and physical toughness. So far, the team has met their expectations. With the combination of strong 8th grade leadership with a strong 7th grade class, the team and coaches expect great things during this 2012 season.
