During the 125th Celebration of Henderson, the goal is to Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present and Explore the Future.  Each month there will be an opportunity to honor the past as Ethnic Food Demonstrations will be held one Saturday.  This month the students will learn how to make Green Bean Soup from Jean Peters in the Heartland Community Schools Family Consumer Science Room at 10:00 a.m on Saturday, July 28.The rest of the schedule for the year is as follows: August 18, Priescha; September 16, Verenika; October 13, Schnetya; November 25, Peppernuts; December 29, New Year’s Cookies. Â
These hands-on demonstrations cost $15 per person. Â Included in this cost is all the ingredients used for the class, the hand-on instruction, taste testing during the class, and any additional food made during this class will be taken home by those attending. Â Each participant will also receive the recipe for each class they attend, so they can make the recipes at home.
Tickets may be purchased ahead of time at the Henderson Chamber Office or the day of the demonstration. Â Class size is limited to 20 people.
