Baby Walkers to Parrot Cages; Belt Sanders to Cream Cakes. Â Where would you be able to to to find these treasures and treats all in the same place? Â Well, all these were available along with, what seemed like, a never ending list of deals at the Henderson Garage Sales that took place this last Saturday, June 9th.
The advertising informed that the event would start at 8am and last until 2pm, but the early bird definitely got the worm this year as many sales were sold out, even before noon. Â Garage Sellers were getting knocks on their doors at 7:15 a.m. or earlier with potential buyers that did not want to miss out on getting the deals they wanted. Â The streets of Henderson were busy; nearing chaotic as the Garage Sales got underway.
“You definitely have to have your head on a swivel if you decide to get out and about around town; if you’re walking, biking or driving. Â It’s crazy out here!” coming from a Henderson resident who chose to look for some deals herself.
Lunch was even something you had to make sure you came early to. Â Corbin Tessman sold his ‘finger lickin’ good’ ribs again this year. Â If you did not make it over to lunch until 12:15 p.m., though, you may have been out of luck. Â Tessman said rib racks and rib meals starting selling around 10:30 a.m. and did not stop until his smokers were completely cleaned out at 12:15 p.m., approximately.
Stacy Dick also sold a stellar breakfast and bag lunch, which was a hit and driving by her garage sale around lunch time; one could see her deals were also almost completely picked over.
The day was beautiful and the sales were a success for sellers and buyers, alike. Â However, if you came to town hoping to shop after lunchtime, you may have just missed out and might need to plan for an earlier departure for next years sales.
