The Henderson Relay for Life Team’s fundraising efforts were the best in the history of their existence, thanks to the generosity of the community! A total of $8882.00 was raised by the team making them the top fundraising team of all participating in the York area fundraising event.
Four of the Henderson team members raised over $1000 individually and out of the top thirteen fundraising individuals for the event, six were Henderson team members!
At the event in York, each fundraising team was encouraged to provide a food item for sale as an additional fundraiser and to provide food for the relay attenders. The homemade cinnamon rolls, made by various local Henderson community women, were a big hit and sold out quickly. Thanks to all who were willing to bake rolls for us when called upon!
All luminaries that were purchased from the Henderson team were personalized by Maelyn Huebert. Maelyn has been doing this for the team for many years. No official count has been kept, but with well over 100 luminaries being made for Henderson folks in this year alone, the number is likely creeping close to 1,000 total! This is a wonderful community service that Maelyn, a Heartland Community Schools senior this fall, has been providing and the team as well as the York Relay Committee certainly appreciates it.
Thanks again, Henderson, for your enthusiastic support of the important task of finding a cure for cancer through the American Cancer Society and your donations to the York County Relay for Life!
