March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and a perfect time to draw attention to the upcoming Relay for Life Fundraising event in the local area.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life will take place at the York County Fairgrounds again this year from 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9 through 7 a.m. on Sunday the 10th.
Henderson “team members†will be soliciting donations during the months of April and May. Many local people have been affected by cancer: survivors who have experienced the disease firsthand, caregivers who work tirelessly to give love and support to a cancer patient, and friends and relatives who know what an impact the disease can make on a patient’s life.
The local team is in need of several additional volunteer participants to get involved with the short-term commitment of helping raise money for this worthy cause. Anyone interested in getting involved may contact a Henderson team captain (Kim Epp kmb1071@yahoo.com or Kathryn Goertzen kgoertzen@mainstaycomm.net ) to volunteer or seek additional information. A complete list of Henderson Team members will be published soon.
