The Heartland Huskies traveled to Geneva Saturday night to take on the 11-3 Fillmore Central Panthers.

The night started off with the Panthers getting a jump on the Huskies as they were up 9-21 early in the second quarter.  However, the Huskies managed to crawl back into the game hitting some free throws and Sophomore, Allison Braun coming up with a big three-point play to make the score 19-23 at halftime.

Both teams struggled with turnovers and fouls, but the second half was ultimately rough on the Huskies as they scored only nine points in the second half.  The Panthers, however, started the 3rd quarter on a 7-0 run and would take over the game from there with the 28-38 victory.

Scoring leaders for the Huskies were Juniors, Mikaelyn Dick with 10 points and Sara Brune with eight points.  The Huskies season record moves to 6-5.  They will look to improve their record tomorrow night as they travel north to Polk to take on High Plains. If you can not make the game, you can follow our LIVE blog on the Huskie Sports Network on HeartlandBeat.com.
