The Huskie Girls’ team came out hot last night and did not let up as they defeated the High Plains Storm 47-22.

The game started out well for Mikaelyn Dick as she boosted the Huskies by giving them their first eight points right off the bat. Mikaelyn hit two three’s to start the game and ended her night with 16 points. The Huskies were led in scoring by Sara Brune, who had 18 points.

Heartland were making plays all night picking up steals, connecting on fast breaks and being solid on rebounding and scoring. The team worked together to end the first quarter alone with 23 points.

The Huskies worked together well on their press and the Storm just could not handle it. The game seemed to go all Heartland’s way all night. The Huskie bench was able to get on the court and get some playing time and played most of the fourth quarter.

The Huskies hope to carry over their momentum into this weekend as they play at home both Friday and Saturday night. Cheer them on at the game or at home by watching LIVE Stream on the Huskie Sports Network on HeartlandBeat.com.
