The Class D-1 #10 ranked Heartland Huskie Girls fought hard against the C2 #2 ranked Shelby-Rising City Huskies, but a hard third quarter put Heartland in a tough spot to recover as they lose to Shelby-RC, 32-51.
Shelby-RC sophomore standout, Chatrice White was contained by Heartland through most of the first half as she was only able to put up six points. Â White had scouts from Michigan State, Purdue and Nebraska in attendance last night to watch her game.
The third quarter brought a small spark for Heartland initially, but was quickly stopped as Shelby-RC had a spree of their own and outscored the Huskies in the third, 6-19.
Heartland just was not able to make up the lost ground. Â The Huskies were led in scoring by Mikaelyn Dick with 11 points.
