Celebrate the Spirit of Christmas on Thursday, December 1, from 5-8 p.m. on Main Street and around Henderson as various businesses roll out the red carpet for holiday shopping and open houses. Santa and Mrs. Clause will also be making an appearance that evening at City Hall from 5 – 7 p.m. and will have a special little gift for all the children that visit him that evening.
During the Spirit of Christmas there will be over 20 local retailers selling products that will be perfect for your holiday gift giving. Not only will you be able to find gifts for the youngest and oldest people on your list, but you will also be saving money by not driving out of town to do your Christmas shopping. Businesses that will be open include: Premier Designs, Celebrating Home, KVK Jewelry, Petal Pusher, Friesen Gallery, Headquarters, Henderson Food Mart, Henderson Pharmacy, Dutch Kitchen, Tupperware, Mary Kay, Balabans, Dart Inc, Town & Country Boutique, Shannon’s Custom Embroidery, Bethesda Preschool Cookbooks, Henderson Heritage Committee, Henderson Car Wash, Henderson Community Foundation, Chenilly, Florals by Deb, Little Piggies, FrEdis Jelly, Thirty One and Button Boutique.
In addition to the retail vendors and Santa, various businesses will be hosting Open Houses throughout the community during the Spirit of Christmas Evening to show gratitude for your business over the past year. Businesses hosting open houses inlcude: Cornerstone Bank, Mainstay Communications, Henderson State Bank, Kroeker & Kroeker Insurance and Real Estate, Henderson Heating & Air, Whitney/Newman/Merch/Otto, Henderson Health Care Services, Prairie Oasis, Bergen Friesen Agency, Henderson Meat Processors, Hiebner Body, Spectra Wraps, Kroeker Grain, Teckmeyer Financial, Henderson Community Coop, Mainstay Satellite and A&L Sales and Service.
With so many events taking place the same evening, it will be hard to know where to go when. That is why the Henderson Chamber of Commerce will be providing maps with vendors, gift ideas, drawing details and locations. Maps will be available beginning November 23 at City Hall and at www.cityofhenderson.org.
