Planning continues for the 125th Celebration for Henderson in 2012. Through the work of the Steering Committee, the theme for the event will be: Honor. Celebrate. Explore. as we will strive to honor the past, celebrate the present and explore the future in 2012.
To incorporate the theme for the year, the steering committee held a contest for logos to be used for the event. Five different logos were submitted into the contest with artist be as close as Henderson and as far away as Arizona.
The steering committee is happy to announce that Kerri Pankratz had the winning logo design. Her logo was chosen for its flexibility to be used on various types of products, promotional material and advertisements. Kerri gave the following description for her logo design. “I included a dove with an olive branch to symbolize the community’s peaceful Mennonite heritage and below is a kind of crest with a tractor tire and ears of corn that represent Henderson as a farming community.â€
Thank you to all of the artists who submitted a logo design to the contest.
