Planning has already begun for the 125th Celebration for Henderson in 2012. Through the work of the Steering Committee, the theme for the event will be: Honor. Celebrate. Explore. because we will strive to honor the past, celebrate the present and explore the future in 2012.
As we move forward to organize the year of events, we want a common logo that will appear in all promotions, collective memorabilia and will be associated with all events happening throughout the year. In order to include all of the talented artists associated with the community of Henderson, a contest is being held to find the right logo for the event. The prize for having your logo selected by the steering committee is seeing your logo associated with all aspects of the 125thCelebration of Henderson.
The Steering Committee is inviting all interested artists and graphic designers to help us formulate a logo for the event. It is important that the logo includes the theme (Honor. Celebrate. Explore.), the years (1887-2012), the community name (Henderson, NE) and that the 125th Celebration (Q125, 125 years, etc.) is portrayed in the logo through words or design. Logos can be black and white or color, but may need to be adapted for use on t-shirts, polo shirts, memorabilia or other products associated to the event.  All logos must be submitted in JPG or paper form to the Henderson Chamber of Commerce by Thursday, November 17, by 8 a.m. at hchamber@mainstaycomm.net, PO Box 225, Henderson, NE 68371, or by dropping it off at the Henderson City Hall. A short description of reasoning behind the design may also be helpful for the committee when making their decision on which logo to use.
