A few weeks ago a handful of residents in Henderson woke up on Labor Day morning to find that something was missing from their front yard. Several lawn ornaments missing left many residents asking where these very important and priceless items had gone. As of now, it is still unknown where the items have vanished to. We will keep you updated as we find out more information.
One of the residents that is missing a yard ornament happens to be a writer. With her permission we have posted her poem that she wrote expressing the situation.
If you have any information about these missing lawn ornaments, the residents would greatly appreciate your help.
A Change In The Weather?
Attention folks! It’s a weather alert!
I wouldn’t want your prize geranium hurt.
This prediction has long been passed by mouth – “winter is comin’ when the birds head south!â€
For years a goose has guarded my lawn.
This morning she and her goslings are gone.
A gift they were from a husband to his wife.
The last gift he bought in his too short life.
I didn’t even know they knew how to fly.
It’s doubtful cement’s friendly to the sky.
Not once before has she ever tried to roam!
It sure would be nice to have her back home.
So now I’m sad that those birds are gone.
There’s a hole in me and one in my lawn!Ellen Simon, September 2011
