While individuals with diabetes need medications, like insulin and oral diabetes pills, they still have the same nutritional needs as everyone else. According to the American Diabetes Association, treatment for diabetes involves five components. These components are meal plan, exercise, medication, monitoring and education.
Through the Henderson Health Care Services Diabetes Fair on Tuesday, August 23, diabetics and their families can learn about diabetes to enhance the education component of their treatment. During this Diabetes Fair in the Henderson Health Care Service basement conference room, individuals will hear a presentation by Lori Bolander RN and have the opportunity to speak to vendors of diabetes products and services. Food and refreshments will be provided to those in attendance.
Be sure to attend the Henderson Health Care Services Diabetes Fair for diabetics and their families on Tuesday, August 23, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Henderson Health Care Services basement conference room. For more information about this event or information about diabetes care and education at Henderson Health Care Services contact Ann Branz at (402) 723-4512 ext 288.
