Not only did Jesse Nissen, Heartland Senior face the State’s stiffest high school Class C competition at the State Golf Meet this year, he also had to take on some pretty unsuitable weather.  The Class C State Meet was held May 24 and 25 in Kearney at the Meadowlark Hills Golf Course.  Nissen thought that he would be competing in a two-day meet, 18 holes each day.
However, with the weather being inclement and not any time to postpone, the State Meet turned into a single 18-hole Championship round and Nissen was only able to finish 17 holes the first day and the 18th hole on day two. Nissen took on the competition and weather and ended up with a tie for eighth place in Class C shooting at 79. Â He was a sixth place finisher as a junior in Class D and this was his third State appearance of his high school career. Congratulations to Jesse Nissen for his place at state and his solid golf career at Heartland. Â The Heartland Golf team had a great season this year and have a lot to be proud of.
