Throughout this week, the Henderson clinic and Sutton Family Practice will be hosting a health fair with the chemistry profile test, prostate specific antigen, and thyroid stimulation hormone test available for greatly reduced rates.
Your final opportunities to participate in the Health Fair at Henderson Health Care Services will be on every morning this week until Saturday Feb. 5 from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and at Sutton Family Practice every morning this week until Friday, Feb. 4 from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. No appointments will be taken for the health fair, walk-ins only.
These tests can provide early detection for numerous health problems such as anemia and other blood disorders, elevated blood sugars, hypercholesterolemia, thyroid problems and electrolyte abnormalities. Most insurance companies do not cover laboratory screenings and this is a great opportunity to save money on screenings.
Those wishing to have blood drawn should not eat or drink (except water) after midnight prior to having blood drawn. It is important to continue drinking water while fasting from other foods, so it is easier to perform the blood draw.
No appointment is necessary for blood draws during health fair times, but a short wait may be expected due to the volume of people participating in the health fair. For more information about this Health Fair contact the Henderson clinic at (402) 723-4512 or Sutton Family Practice at (402) 773-2130.
