Head Track Coach Christa Lindsay looks forward to a rebuilding year with the Huskies.

The Heartland girls and boys track teams are already “up & running”! 42 students are out for track, including 22 boys and 20 girls. There are five incoming freshman girls: Tara Buzek, Kinsley Friesen, Meggan Friesen, Amanda Goertzen, and Madalyn Janzen. Incoming freshman boys are Asher Daly, Nevada Gloystein, Camden Riggs, and Zaine Swartzendruber.

Head Coach Christa Lindsay is entering her third year leading the track team. “We are working on rebuilding relays to be competitive and potentially have a shot at qualifying for the state meet,” said Lindsay.

“Mariah Tessman is our female standout from last year. She attended the state meet three years in a row, and her goal is to make it there for her senior year,” said Lindsay.

Returning state medalists in the 4 x 4 relay are Luis Alvarez and Nick Thieszen, and in the 4 x 8 Hudson Regier, according to Coach Lindsay.
