For several weeks, many Heartland students have been busy practicing for their musical “Fiddler on the Roof.”
“Fiddler on the Roof” is a well-known musical set in Russia in the early 1900’s. It portrays the story of a devout Jewish family where the father of five daughters struggles to preserve tradition as outside influences come upon his family, particularly in the form of husbands for his daughters. On top of this, the family must also deal with an edict that forces the Jews from their village. The first Broadway production of “Fiddler on the Roof” began in the 1960’s and had a record-setting number of performances.
“Fiddler on the Roof” will be performed April 12 and 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the school theater. Tickets are available at the school office.
