Heartland Community School Special Election to Increase Tax Authority FAILED

It’s official and disappointing for the Heartland school district. The Special mail-in-only election with a resolution for Heartland to increase its tax authority request did not receive the required 60% approval needed.

Heartland Community Schools is welcoming seven new certified staff members this year in a variety of positions. "We feel very fortunate that we were able to hire some really good individuals for all the open positions," said Superintendent Jeremy Klein.

Under the guidance of experienced head coach Ben Lindsay, the Heartland Huskie football team plans on competing this year. Coach Lindsay has been at the helm for the past six years and served as an assistant for three years prior to taking the head coaching position.

The Class of 1958, 1963, 1973, 1998, and 2003 all came together over the weekend, celebrating with plenty of laughter, reminiscing, and storytelling.

Henderson may not have a public library, but the Heartland Community School libraries more than makeup for it. School may be out, but the elementary library welcomes preschool and elementary students to come in out of the heat and check out some books in their air-conditioned library.
