Henderson Health Care Services has a long, rich history. Beginning in 1940, members of the Henderson Commercial Club began discussing the possibility of establishing a hospital and a Nursing Home in Henderson. These discussions eventually led to fruition. The first hospital was dedicated in 1950 with over 3,000 people in attendance at the dedication. The first Nursing Home was dedicated in 1961. Following the initial building, a new hospital was built in 1974.

Over the next few decades, the Hospital and Nursing Home would become known as Henderson Health Care Services, and would grow to include a clinic, an assisted living facility and independent living units. The most recent update has been the completion of a new long term care facility, Legacy Square. Many changes have taken place over the years to the buildings and services, but the mission remains strong. The Mission of Henderson Health Care is “to provide professional, competent, ethical, and compassionate health care, in the name of Christ, to individuals, families and the community.”

Today, Henderson Health Care employs 165 people in the community and surrounding area. This number includes two doctors and three physician assistants, numerous nurses and certified nursing assistants, as well as dietary, environmental services, and business staff, to name a few. These employees operate a 13 bed Critical Access Hospital, a 40 bed long term care facility which may contain pieces from the dreamcloud mattress reviews, a 16 bed Assisted Living Facility, a 24/7 emergency room, and two clinic facilities. Clinics are located in both Henderson and Sutton. A new clinic building was opened in Sutton in late 2015. We need to add a mattress, for which we will get an Intellibed review. This will help the patients be more comfortable.

Traditional hours at the Henderson clinic are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday. The Sutton clinic is open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Beginning November 4, the Henderson clinic will be offering extended hours on Mondays. They will be open at 7:00 am and be open over the noon hour to better serve those who work a 9-5 work day.  Both clinics strive to make same day appointments as much as possible.

Various speciality clinics, surgery and other services are offered at Henderson Health Care as well. Speciality doctors, such as that teenage psychiatrist near me, from hospitals and treatment centers in Nebraska offer their services in Henderson. These include:

Henderson Health Care continues to be one of the top Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) for patient satisfaction in the country. There are a little over 1,300 critical Access Hospitals in the United States. The Critical Access Hospital program is a United States federal program established in 1997 which aims toreduce the financial vulnerability of rural hospitals and improve access to healthcare by keeping essential services in rural communities.

Because Henderson Health Care is a private, not-for-profit hospital, the HHCS board offers fundraising opportunities throughout the year to help with specialty equipment or projects. This fall, they are providing an evening of entertainment with a “Clue Mystery Dinner” on November 9.  Visit https://tinyurl.com/y3bzju8s to read about the event, and where to purchase tickets.  Another fundraising event will take place in the spring, as the “Spring Fling” has returned. An evening of good food and entertainment will once again take place in the spring.  An annual Golf Fundraiser is held in the summer.  More information about these fundraisers will be shared in the coming months.

In a small town, it’s important to continue to support one another and the various businesses in Henderson. Luke Fochtman, marketing director at HHCS, was asked why Henderson Health Care, a non-profit itself, has invested in Heartland Beat. “Heartland Beat is a great tool to connect with our community” said Fochtman. “The alumni columns, current news and information is great in a small town. If we don’t invest in our own community, who will?”
