The Heartland Boys Basketball Team spent the end of last week competing in the D1 Nebraska State Basketball Tournament. For their first game on Thursday, the Huskies faced the Osmond Tigers at Lincoln Northeast. In a great game, Heartland put up 52 points over Osmond’s 34.

This win sent the Huskies on to play at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Friday in the semifinals. Facing an undefeated Kenesaw team, the game was a hard-fought battle for the Huskies who fell to the Blue Devils.

On Saturday the team played Johnson-Brock in the consolation game at Lincoln East. The baskets fell just right for the Eagles who won over the Huskies. Heartland was awarded fourth place at the State Tournament after a weekend of intense play and finished with a final 21-5 record.

Congratulations to the team and coaches on a great season!
