Train arrivals have been known to be delayed and the Heritage Depot has been no exception. It has taken a while, but the Heritage Park’s Henderson Depot is finally finished with the recent delivery of the rail car. That’s why it’s time to celebrate with a dedication ceremony taking place this Sunday, October 9 at 3:00 PM.

Randy Ratzlaff, who spearheaded the project, will be saying a few words while recognizing others who were instrumental in getting the replica depot built. The ceremony will include the driving of the golden spike, so history lovers and railroad buffs won’t want to miss this historical event.

The public is invited to come out and enjoy this celebration and view the completed depot as well as the inside of the railcar. Coffee and cookies will be served afterwards. Visitors are encouraged to bring some folding chairs. The depot is located at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park 1 ½ mile south of the Henderson I-80 Exit #342 on spur 93A.
