If you are searching for those finishing touches to complete or update your home, your treasures may be waiting for you right in Henderson at a unique event this weekend. JoAnn Friesen is inviting people to her farmyard to browse through her new decor building, Willow Station. The weekend event will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Willow Station is an idea that has been brewing in the minds of her and her husband Mike for quite some time, but they really became dedicated to the idea two years ago. Her son, Garrett, a residential designer and drafter, was able to design the building for them, making it particularly special. The name came from the combination of creating the style of the building to resemble an old gas station and JoAnn’s love of a willow bush on their farm. After discussions with family and friends, Willow Station suddenly clicked as the fitting name.
Decorating has always been a passion of JoAnn’s. She previously worked at Baer’s Furniture where she had the opportunity to assist clients with their home decorating needs. It is exciting for her to help people pick items that reflect their own personal style. She also does in-home consultations and sets up seasonal displays.
The store will feature decor that JoAnn has selected as well as items that other vendors will be bringing in, ensuring different styles and finds for everyone. There will be new decor, repurposed items, antiques, canvases, items for babies and kids, florals, sewed items, furniture, and signs. Another great part of the event is that Stacy Lynn’s Baking Company will be catering for breakfast and lunch.
“We love to have people on our yard. This event will give people a chance to gather and visit with one another,” said JoAnn. The Friesens hope to host events like this 3-4 times a year. They are thankful for the support they have received from many local businesses, friends, and family and look forward to seeing you this weekend!
