The April HeartlandBeat.com student of the month is Heartland Junior Aaron Jensen.  He was nominated by Heartland High School Language Arts teacher and Drama Department Sponsor Lindsay Bartling.  “I appreciated Aaron’s willingness to step up in the play as a lead role; this showed a lot of character and leadership as he also held a job and is active in other extra curricular activities at school,” said Bartling.

Aaron played the lead role of Alexander in Heartland’s recent “Wrangler Ranch” spring play production which happened to incorporate music as well.  “I really enjoyed performing in front of a live audience and especially being able to sing in the play,” said Jensen.  He is very involved in the Heartland music program in both chorus and band.  He admitted that putting on the play was hard work especially the mornings that he worked an early shift from 4:30 – 7 A.M. at Schiebout Tires where he is a part-time employee.

Jensen’s other extra-curricular activities include football and golf.  In the upcoming District Music Contest he will be entered in eight different sections either singing or playing his trombone.  Outside of school he enjoys hunting and fishing.  Future plans include college where he would like to attend the University of Nebraska to study some area of science.  He lives in Henderson with his mother Katherine and has two brothers and one sister.  Congratulations to Aaron for being nominated as the HeartlandBeat.com Student of the Month!
